Galerie Paris-Beijing will be hosting ‘Revealing Disappearance,’ a solo exhibition featuring works by Liu Bolin at the gallery’s venue at Paris. The works that will be displayed in this exhibition reflect the Liu Bolin’s engagement with environmental issues. Ecology has been a favorite subject of Bolin since the beginning of his career. In 2011, the artist braved the polluted water of the Yellow River and stood in that water. Recently, he has also stood among a garbage pile in Bangalore, India. He had also organized a collective performance at the edge of the large artificial forest in order to stop the expansion of the Gobi desert in China. Bolin also flew to the French Atlantic Coast where, in collaboration with Surfrider Foundation Europe, he organized two more performances. This was for raising public awareness regarding the issue of marine litter.‘Revealing Disappearance’ will display photographs of Bolin’s performances across China, India, and France. Apart from his photographs, the exhibition will also display a site specific installation from the VISA Portrait Series. This installation is made of dozens of car air filters. A 28-minute video called Winter Solistice (2016) will also be presented before the public. The aim of the exhibition is to highlight the consequences of human actions on the planet they call home. The exhibition will be on view from September 7, through October 28, 2017, at Galerie Paris-Beijing, 62, Rue de Turbigo- 75003, Paris, France. For details, visit: www.blouinartinfo.com/galleryguide/galerie-paris-beijing/overview Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition.
