Galerie Daniel Blau is currently hosting a solo exhibition by Per Kirkeby. The exhibition features a collection of works on paper by the renowned artist. Visitors can walk through the gallery exploring a range of these works from his earliest to most recent ones. Born in 1938, the Danish painter, poet, film maker and sculptor, studied at the University of Copenhagen. The artist was mainly interested in geology and nature, which in general still plays a crucial role in his artistic expressions. Most of his works rely on these themes therefore becoming very characteristic in the works presented at the exhibition. His works have been acquired and presented by various galleries at art exhibitions worldwide such as Tate Gallery, London; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Museum of Modern Art, New York, Centre Pompidou, Paris. Kirkeby has been teaching as a professor at the Art Academy in Karlsruhe (1978–89) and Frankfurter Städelschule (1989–2000). The artist has exhibited at various galleries in some of the major cities of Europe such as Madrid, London, Cologne, Oslo, Luxembourg, Innsbruck as well as in the United States.
