QUEENS — A tech worker for Comptroller Scott Stringer‘s office was arrested Thursday for groping a woman on the 7 train — getting busted after a coworker spotted his picture in the news and notified police, officials said.
Raza Qaisar, a 59-year-old computer analyst with the comptroller’s office, is accused of “continuously” touching a 30-year-old female passenger while riding the 7 train on Sept. 27, police said.
The NYPD released a photo of Qaisar to the media Wednesday night, and he was arrested in Brooklyn the next day after someone from his office recognized his picture, according to a spokesman for Stringer.
“After seeing that photo in the news, a member of our staff alerted office leadership, who contacted the NYPD,” spokesman Devon Puglia said in a statement.
“As a result, a member of our staff has since been arrested. We are currently undertaking a review of the matter.”
Qaisar was charged with forcible touching, police said. Information on his defense attorney was not immediately available.
