Club Crush: The Week’s Best Electronic Lineups

The news of the Route 91 Harvest shooting has me bummin’ big time. As you can probably tell from my posts, I’m not much of a country fan, but that doesn’t change the fact that I LOVE when any group comes together in the name of live music. To hear that a Las Vegas music festival was terrorized by yet another deranged white guy with multiple fucking ASSAULT RIFLES has me sick, to say the least. This tragedy marks a huge loss for the entire music community. So while we can hope that the deadliest shooting in U.S. shooting can kick-start necessary need for reform, we can’t let it keep us from doing what we love.

When you attend the next show, use it as an opportunity to spread good vibes. Give a fuckton of high fives. Hug a stranger. Let a drunk girl cut you in line in the bathroom. Life is too short to be shitty. It’s up to you guys to be beacons of glitter and fabulousness when you hit this week’s Club Crush picks.

1.) Wolfgang Gartner @ Output (Thursday, October 5th) – We were thrilled to see Wolfgang Gartner release his second full-length studio album, 10 Ways to Steal Home Plate, last January. The LA-based DJ and producer is always pushing the  envelope with his unique, genre-bending compilations and bass-driven tracks. He’s collaborated with the scene’s best and brightest, from Deadmau5 to Skrillex. He’s headlined countless major music festivals. Now he’s back to slay Output’s always hopping Thursday night INPUT party, built by MeanRed. BangOn!NYC’s resident DJ duo, The Golden Pony, will be there to get the party started. Get tickets HERE.

2.) Paco Osuna @ Output (Friday, October 6th) –  With more than two decades under his belt, Paco Osuna has become one of techno’s most respected names. His label, Mindshake, continues to be one of America and Europe’s most provocative and inspiring springboards for industry talent. He’s thrown down at international festivals like TimeWarp, Sonar, Awakenings, Movement Detroit and The BPM Festival. His jaw dropping sound aesthetics will be especially pleasing as they pulse from Output’s Funktion One sound system this Friday night. Get tickets HERE.

3.) TroyBoi @ Brooklyn Steel (Friday, October 6th) – East London’s most progressive trap producer will make Williamsburg a bit grittier this Friday night. Hot off the release of his 20-track studio album, Left is Right, TroyBoi is a welcome addition to the newish venue’s star-studded roster. The new album features appearances from Ice Cube and mentor Jim Beanz (who has lent his musical talents to Top 40 names like Rhianna, as well as TV’s Empire and The Simpsons), so you know it’s gonna be lit. Get tickets HERE.

4.) Roger Sanchez @ Schimanski NYC (Saturday, October 7th) – His old man doled out solid advice when he urged Roger Sanchez to take a break from his studies at Pratt Institute to pursue music full-time. The Architecture student turned house producer has become one of electronic music’s most prolific acts. Since 1990, Roger Sanchez has moved up the ranks from playing underground New York venues to major international circuits, remixing tracks from Babyface, Michael Jackson and Basia along the way. This weekend he has the advantage of playing on his home turf when lights up Schimanski NYC’s main room. Get tickets HERE.

5.) Corona Electric Beach presents Felix Da Housecat @ The Well (Sunday, October 8th) – Don’t let the cartoonish name fool you. Felix Da Housecat is serious when it comes to house. He embodies the spirit of classic Chicago everywhere he plays. This Sunday, Corona Electric Beach is bringing his bumping beats to a FREE party at The Well. Crack a cold one and enjoy the warm weather before it’s gone for good. RSVP HERE.
