“Salt Bae” – the internet sensation famous for the amazing and inspiring way he adds salt to meat – has opened his first restaurant in the US.
Chef Nusret Gökçe already operates Nusr-Et Steakhouse and Nusr-Et Burger restaurants in Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. Now, he is bringing his signature meat-slicing and salt skills stateside with a new location in Miami.
Gökçe established his internet fame earlier this year, when an Instagram video he posted of him slicing up a steak and sprinkling salt on top went viral – and earned him the nickname Salt Bae. All that fame meant that he set his sights on expanding his business outside of his native Turkey and the UAE, with plans to open locations in New York and London.
However, Miami has become the first actual restaurant to open in the US, and meat-lovers will be thrilled to stop by and see what’s on offer. The menus at the restaurants are unsurprisingly focused on meat, with many options for steak, beef filet, lamb, burgers, meatballs, Turkish sausage and more. The new spot is located at 999 Brickell Avenue in Miami.
But if you can’t make it to one of Gökçe’s restaurants anytime in the future, you may have to content yourself with watching all his latest meat-slicing feats on Instagram.
