The L Train shutdown is getting its own documentary

Filmmakers Emmett Adler and Ian Mayer with NY State Senator Brad Hoylman

Every clusterfuck deserves its own documentary and accordingly the impending L Train shutdown is getting one. Directed By Emmett Adler and produced by Ian Mayer the film tentatively titled The L Train Doc is currently in the works with a scheduled release in the fall of 2019.

This film will tell the human stories of residents, business owners, activists, politicians, realtors and others whose lives will be dramatically impacted. Themes will include historical context, climate change, the state of American infrastructure, wealth distribution and the pitfalls of our often fraught political systems. With principal photography having begun in 2016 and continuing through after the 2019 shutdown, this “time capsule documentary” will pair expectations, efforts and promises with realities.

We can’t wait to see it and hope it’s going to be available on Netflix since getting anywhere will be impossible once the shutdown happens. You can find out more about the project at ltraindoc.com or on their Instagram page.
