Two unusual outdoor screenings

0 2

By Kate Hooker

On Friday evening, you can take your pick of two outdoor film screenings in unique Brooklyn settings that are far afield from the usual fare of Clueless and Dirty Dancing (not that there’s anything wrong with those, of course). If you’re in North Brooklyn, head to the rooftop at Kingsland Wildflowers Green Roof & Community Engagement Center at 7:30pm for Paris to Pittsburgh, an environmental documentary that explores the response of everyday Americans to the looming climate change crisis. RSVP here for the free screening, and stick around afterwards for a panel discussion featuring notable scientists and conservationists. Across town, Rooftop Films is throwing an opening night party in Green-Wood Cemetery, with a program of short films about a diverse array of topics like illegal Chinese Trap music and conga lines on the high seas. Door open at 7:45pm and the films begin at 9pm; there will also be live music by Nadah al Shazly, a Q&A and an after party. Tickets are $16.
