[Update] Helicopter Crashes Into Hudson River Near Midtown: Gothamist

An FDNY spokesperson confirmed the crash happened just before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, in the area of 12th Avenue and 34th Street. There were no injuries, and the pilot, who is believed to have been the only person on board, was safely rescued.
Be advised a helicopter has landed in the Hudson River avoid the area of 30th street and the West Side Highway So Emergency Personnel can enter the area and assist. Thank You
According to the NYPD, the helicopter “fell short of the landing pad on West 30th Street and Hudson River.”

Update 3:20 p.m.: The FDNY are now reporting there were two people with non-life threatening injuries: the pilot and a heliport worker, who was injured by debris. A source told Gothamist that “Zip Aviation owns the helicopter and that they are a contractor for Blade.”
Mayor de Blasio added: “Relieved to report there were no deaths or serious injuries after a helicopter incident on the Hudson river. Thank you to our first responders for your quick action. Please stay clear of 34th St and 12th Ave on the West Side so emergency response teams can complete their work.”
