Go around the world in 80 days as part of Airbnb’s new adventures
If you have ever fancied embarking on a trip around the world, a new experience has been launched to give guests this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It is part of Airbnb Adventures, a new collection of over 200 multi-day experiences, hosted by local experts who take intimate groups to off-the-beaten-path locations and immerse them in unique cultures and communities.
Called Around the World in 80 days, and inspired by the Jules Verne classic of the same name, the world trip will see guests departing from London and travelling across six continents, 18 countries, two oceans and five seas. Employing eight modes of transportation, it will take in everything from glaciers to volcanoes, mountains to desert, houseboats to yurts, and mountains to whitewaters.
Along the way, guests will meet all kinds of communities and characters, including the mystical Elephant Singers in Nairobi, Dracula experts in Transylvania and a community of bamboo craftsmen in China. They will go sailing on the Nile, go hunting for Northern Lights, and visit Petra in Jordan, the Galápagos and the stunning mountains of Flinders Ranges in Australia. The trip includes a hot air balloon over the Masai Mara National Reserve to spot wildlife.
Other highlights include exploring medicine and myth in Bhutan, going on a Samurai pilgrimage near Osaka, Japan, and seeing the city lights of New York and Hong Kong. Departing on 1 September from London, Around The World in 80 Days will be bookable as an Airbnb Adventure from 20 June, and further information is available here.
The other Airbnb Adventures on offer include a six-day Galápagos Slow Food Safari, tracking lions on foot with Sabache Warriors in Kenya and hunting for UFOs in Arizona. Additional information on the adventures on offer is available here.
