Since last week, long lines have been forming in front of the one story converted garage at 459 Court Street in Carroll Gardens. F&F Pizza, the new neighborhood venture of restaurateurs Frank Falcinelli and Frank Castronovo  just opened here and it has been the buzz in the neighborhood since.

It seemed like a very logical move for  Falcinelli and  Castronovo. The two ‘Franks’ opened Frankies 457 Spuntino next door to the new pizza place over 15 years ago and followed up a while later with Franks Wine Bar(formerly Prime Meats)  at 465 Court Street on the corner of the same block.

The Franks developed their pizza in collaboration with Chad Robertson of San Francisco’s legendary bakery Tartine and James Beard Award winner Chris Bianco of Phoenix’s Pizza Bianco.

Pies are made with sauce from sustainable, organic tomatoes grown in California and the olive oil used is Frankies Spuntino Extra Virgin Olive Oil, which the Franks sell at their eateries and in local gourmet stores.
Currently, F&F offers plain, cheese or Sicilian pizza. More toppings will be added later.  Though the pizzeria invites customers “to grab a slice or a pie while walking through the neighborhood“, tables are available in the back garden for those who want to sit down.
F&F seems like a nice addition to Carroll Gardens. Have you been yet? How do you like the pizza?
