Here Are Michelin’s Affordable NYC Restaurant Picks For 2020


While restaurant insiders are anticipating which eateries will earn coveted Michelin stars next week, those who simply love to feast in NYC can salivate over Michelin’s Bib Gourmand picks right now. These are the more affordable spots that offer high quality meals for $40 or less (before tax and gratuity). Michelin has previously described the selection process: “Our inspectors, the same ones who awards the stars, also discover good little restaurants that offer excellent value for money. Regional cooking, traditional, trendy, inventive…”

Eater notes, “The Bibs, considered a mark of honor among some, are also viewed by others as a consolation prize, as these venues are, by default, ineligible for stars.” This year, 100+ restaurants made the cut, and Michelin says nearly three dozen cuisines are represented.
