Live/work Shoreditch property by Lynch Architects is for sale

4

Timber frames and birch plywood dominate inside this two-bedroom live/work space by Lynch Architects in London’s Shoreditch neighbourhood.

Sitting on Hoxton Street, the London property unfurls across four storeys and was originally designed by Leonard Manasseh in the 1970s. The L-shaped brick structure is a response to the British High Tech movement and hones a natural material palette. It has been updated and extended by Lynch Architects, with the practice using its prefab upper level – a transparent glass volume – as its studio in recent years.

The two-bedroom home is now on the market for £1.295m via The Modern House. Its ground floor hallway entrance leads up to the first floor, where one of the balconies has been turned into a winter garden, adjoining the kitchen.

Details across the live/work space include exposed copper piping, sloped glazing and built-in cabinetry. The penthouse studio has its own kitchen and WC and has oak-mullioned frames looking out across the Arden Estate.
