A New York City property development firm with a wealth of high-rise building and renovation experience, Harco Construction, LLC, recently completed construction on a commercial building on the corner of Broadway and Spring Street (529 Broadway) in the SoHo neighborhood of lower Manhattan. Home to a massive Nike store, this 6-story building developed by Harco Construction, LLC, includes a total of 55,000 square feet.

529 Broadway won a New York Gold Award in the Structural Systems category at the 2019 American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of New York Engineering Excellence Awards. Regarded as the Oscars of the engineering industry, New York’s ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards recognize outstanding engineering achievements around the globe.

The 529 Broadway reconstruction project relied on state-of-the-art modeling software to create an exterior terra cotta rain screen/glass curtain facade that contains echoes of the Prescott House, a large 19th century hotel that previously occupied the site. The protruding aluminum frames on the new building recall the Prescott House’s original window openings.
