Video: Chris Evans, Paul Rudd & Billy Eichner Startle & Amaze Unsuspecting New Yorkers
Billy On The Street, the greatest television program featuring someone verbally assaulting New Yorkers, remains our favorite ongoing only-in-NYC reality program/game show/buddy comedy. Since launching in 2011 (though Eichner counts the start of the series to 15 years ago, as it took shape during his live shows in the East Village), it’s bounced around from Fuse to TruTV to Funny or Die to Lyft (?), and now has landed on Netflix, where it can take its rightful place in your queue beside The Kominsky Method.
But as long as Billy Eichner keeps putting new episodes on YouTube, we’ll keep writing about them—and this week, he celebrated the move to Netflix with Chris Evans, who is promoting his upcoming film Knives Out. Watch below as they talk Marvel movies with people who have never seen them, start a petition to “remove Kevin Spacey from homosexuality,” and find out whether Evans has made a difference in people’s lives. Along the way, they run into Paul Rudd and “CHRIS’S WORST NIGHTMARE: A BUNCH OF LESBIANS THAT DON’T CARE THAT HE’S HOT.”
And wouldja look at that: there was a Billy On The Street episode we completely missed a few months ago, a high concept one featuring Kate McKinnon as Reese Witherspoon. It’s pretty hilarious seeing how many people don’t realize it’s not Witherspoon—especially the guy who has a “family reunion” with his old friend Witherspoon, whom he last saw at a movie premiere, and who he invites to dinner.
