Van Dam Street Fire Contained Resulting in Two Firefighters Injured

Two FDNY firefighters were injured early this morning while battling a fire that took over two hours to contain at a Greenpoint fabrication shop near Newtown Creek the NY Daily News reports.

Over 130 ems and firefighters arrived to help battle the flames that broke out at approximately 2:30 a.m. this morning on the roof of 67 Van Dam St., according to the Greenpoint Post; the address is home to Think Fabricate.

Pix 11 was on the scene and reports that firefighters had to move outside as the roof of the one-story building began to show signs of sagging:

Two firefighters were transported to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in stable condition and the fire was contained around 5 a.m.; luckily no serious injuries were reported and the source of the fire is being investigated.
